no place for Tomori in England squad

Milan Empoli

Milan defender Fikayo Tomori has not been included in the England squad for their upcoming games against Switzerland and Ivory Coast, while Roma striker Tammy Abraham is part of the team.

Tomori has been one of Milan’s best players this season. He has played 30 games scoring one goal. The Rossoneri tend to win more games and concede fewer goals when the England international is on the pitch, but his performances at San Siro are not enough to earn an England call-up.

The Three Lions coach Gareth Southgate has snubbed the 24-year-old from the squad that will face Switzerland and Ivory Coast during the international break next week.

On the other hand, Roma striker Tammy Abraham has received a call-up joining the likes of Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Raheem Sterling.

With 20 goals scored across all competitions this season, Abraham is the second most prolific English striker in Europe after Harry Kane, who has managed 22. However, the Roma striker has a slightly better minutes-per-goal ratio with a goal scored every 150 minutes, while Kean has one every 152.

England squad:

Goalkeepers: Pcikford, Pope, Ramsdale

Defenders: Alexander-Arnold, Coady, Guehi, James, Maguire, Mings, Shaw, Stones, White

Midfielders: Bellingham, Gallagher, Henderson, Mount, Rice, Ward-Prose

Strikers: Abraham, Foden, Grealish, Kane, Saka, Smith Rowe, Sterling
