Juventus have released a statement announcing that the Federal Prosecutor’s Offices’ investigation on the capital gains case has ended, and they vow to ‘demonstrate the correctness of their actions.’
The Bianconeri, alongside another 10 Italian football clubs, are being investigated for suspicious transfers with inflated values in order to game their capital gains. A huge list of transfers from the last two years have been investigated in order to determine whether or not they were legitimate deals, and today’s statement highlights that the investigation is now over.
Juventus and the 10 other clubs can now begin preparing their defence, being allowed access to the relevant documents. One example of these inflated transfers is the deal that brought Arthur to the Bianconeri from Barcelona, with many suggesting that his value was grossly overestimated in order to better balance the books.
Updates are expected over the coming weeks, although the case could drag on for significantly longer.

“Juventus Football Club S.p.A. (‘Juventus’ or the ‘Company’) announces that this evening, together with 10 other Italian football clubs and their top management, it received a ‘Notice of conclusion of investigations’ from the Federal Prosecutor’s Office at the F.I.G.C. concerning the assessment of the effects of certain transfers of players’ registration rights on the financial statements and the accounting of capital gains, following the report of the Co.Vi.So.C., for the alleged violation of Article 31, paragraph 1, and Articles 6 and 4 of the Sports Justice Code.
“It should be noted that the notified document, regarding certain transfers completed in the 2018/19, 2019/20 and 2020/21 financial years, does not constitute the exercise of disciplinary action by the Federal Prosecutor. The Company may now have access to the documents and present its defence within the terms provided for by the Code, trusting that it will be able to demonstrate the correctness of its actions.”
